Life is Beautiful!

Exams are over!!!! And I can tell you it is a beautiful feeling! Today, I did absolutely NOTHING and it felt great! For over 2 weeks i've been getting up at 8 and going to bed at 2 and pretty much working for a lot of the time inbetween (save for numerous food and coffee breaks).
The exams were hard, but hopefully I did ok, results will be winging their way to me in a first class envelope some time end of june (very scary!). I had a great night out the evening my last exam had finished.......and i'm sure it will be the first of many post-exams adventures!
Sadly though, this does not mark the beginning of my summer holiday! At Nottingham all students embark upon a Bachelor of Medical Science intercalated degree after 2nd year. This takes us about 6 months to complete, ending in January of our 3rd year. We then begin the intensive clinical course for our remaining years! So, since we are managing in 6 months to do what all other medical schools take an extra year out to do, we have to work kinda hard! That's why instead of a super early holiday, I have to go back to lectures for a few weeks until the end of term. Having said all that, the lectures are incredibly easy, with titles such as 'how to use the library' (kinda funny they don't expect us to have worked that out by end of second year....). In this first 3 weeks of 3rd year work all students are assigned their dissertation titles and we begin work on them!
Aside from that work related issue, the rest of life post 2nd exams is all fun! This week is summer medics ball which is going to be AWESOME! I still maintain medics balls are one of the best nights out in the whole year! One of the beautiful things to do after exams is chill out with your friends in a nice sunny green park, playing a bit of rugby and drinking some very chilled beers, so that's what i'm gonna go do right now!

Crazyness!!

Yeah, impending exams are actually driving me crazy! Hard doesn't begin to cover it! Still in 3 weeks they wil all be over, so instead of boring you with the details of what I have to learn, im gonna skip ahead to the post exams fun that awaits me!
The great thing im looking forwards to is the summer medics ball. It has a 'Calypso' theme this year, which essentially means lots of cool random stuff dotted around on all the tables and a few quality things going on, such as the hiring of a steel band and fire eaters! I can wait, and at £40 it's not too bad a deal (some of the balls at oxbridge can be over £100!!!). Nottingham has 2 balls per year, a christmas and summer one, so if you dont make one, there is no excuse for not making the other!. As well as that, Medsoc is organising a trip to Alton Towers for all the medics (the day after some other big event, which means other customers at alton towers on the 4th june should watch out for projectile vomiting coming from rides with medics on!).
The event the day before the theme park trip is the summer medsoc cocktail/BBQ. Its a really lovely evening, and a great place to chill after the stress of exams has ended!
Once I have finished my exams I am officially a third year (exciting!). On the down side to this we have 3 weeks of lectures about how to be a third year! It's a bit different to our first two years, very few lectures from now on and we start out research projects!.
Anyway, back to revision-will let you know how the ball goes!
